City Bakery Hot Chocolate & Knitting Festival

...took place on 2/18 at City Bakery located in NYC's Flatiron District at 3 W. 18th Street.

For the price of the $30 ticket you received dinner (fried chicken, mac n cheese, chicken curry and biscuits, rice, pizza, grilled cheese sandwiches, salads, broccoli and carrots), all you can drink hot chocolate and cold beverages, desserts (chocolate croissants, chocolate chip cheesecakes, mini chocolate cakes) and the opportunity to participate in one of several knitting workshops (yarn, needles and kits were sold separately by each knit vendor).

"J" and I had fried chicken, mac n cheese, chicken curry and biscuits, pizza, grilled cheese sandwiches, caesar salad, carrots and broccoli for dinner. For dessert we had dark chocolate covered coconut shavings, chocolate croissants, chocolate chip cheesecake, pistachio paste with marscapone on rice cake and orange tuille cookie (in a glass of hot chocolate).

We had 4 types of hot chocolate: traditional with a lemon meringue topping, traditional dark chocolate with homemade marshmallow, thai spice and cappucino.

Although we didn't win any of the raffle prizes we each received a goodie bags at the end of the evening with coupons from the various knit vendors, needles, a plastic knitting bag and a bag of chocolate cookies.

There was alot of serious knitters and yarn spinners. I was in love with the knitted marshmallow decorations.
