Ruths' Chris

The NYC midtown location of Ruth's Chris is offering a Summer Classic special - 3 course meal for $39.95. You have your choice of appetizer, entree and personal side, but there is no option for dessert.

For appetizer T had the Mixed Greens & Asparagus Salad - Field Greens served atop fresh asparagus, tossed with roasted tomato vinaigrette, garnished with grape tomatoes & Cajun pecans and topped with crispy onions. I had the Roasted Tomato & Crab Soup - A Roasted Plum tomato soup topped with crab meat and garnished with fresh basil (there was a generous portion of crabmeat).

For entree with both ordered the 6 oz. Filet & Shrimp - A 6-ounce medallion of filet topped with jumbo shrimp (3 shrimps). And when the waiter says the plate is "very hot" he isn't kidding. The butter is still sizzling for 10 minutes after the plate is delivered to your table. Note: don't wear white because some of the butter can pop up and splatter you. The plates are THAT hot.

And we both had a choice of "personal side" - T had the Green Beans with Roasted Garlic and I had the Mashed Potatoes.

For dessert they served their Dessert Summer "Symphony" Selection: Duo of Fresh Berries with Sweet Cream & Raspberry Sorbet in a Chocolate Cup

These portions are really more than enough and we were both very full as we left the restaurant. The service was very good. Everyone at the restaurant was gracious and friendly.
