Port Royal

In a predominantly industrial section of Santa Monica on Broadway and 14th is a little restaurant that looks like it was misplaced from the Caribbean. And it was. This quaint little cafe that is next door to a auto body repair shop serves good Jamaican cuisine. There were only two other customers at lunchtime.

LC had the Boneless jerk pork ribs with Rice N Peas, Callalloo and fried ripe plaintains $7.95

I had the Curry goat with Rice N Peas, Callalloo and fried ripe plaintains $8.95

The food was good and flavorful. This was a great find in LA where Jamaican cuisine is scarce.

Don't go on Monday or Tuesday like we did because the menu is limited. Starting on Wednesdays they have such specials as oxtails. It's tough to sell this type of fattening food in body conscious La-La Land.
