Vintage Irving

...is located at 120 E. 15th Street in NYC's Union Square area.

"A" and I both had a bottle of Lindeman's Pomme beer ($16/each) - it tasted like cider. Yummy.

Master Burger Seminar

...was held on 3/09 at RUB BBQ located at 208 West 23rd Street in NYC's Chelsea.
For $30/pp this included a tasting of three styles of regional burgers, a discussion of meat blends and cooking methods by Josh Ozersky and beer.

Ohio classic - with onions on a "soft, white squishy bun"
Tasting - brisket, chuck and short ribs (the latter was my favorite)
"Made Right" from Iowa - loose patty with raw onions, pickle and mustard on a bun (my least favorite)
New Jersey (a la White Castle) - cooked with onions and topped with cheese on a bun

Beers: Shiner Bock beer and a Mid Light beer
I was disappointed because the "talk" was not well prepared, the hamburgers small and there was no sides served (no fries!).

From Munich...Radler Beer (with lemon soda), saurbraten with bread dumpling and red cabbage.
The dumpling was a big as it looks in this photo (the size of a softball)!

Germany - Post 2

From Munich...Biergarten at the Chinese Tower in the English Garden. What else does one do when one is in a beer garden? Drink beer and eat one of the gigantic soft pretzels!
