Foodie Flicks

Diner

This critically acclaimed movie was known for it's storyline and actors, but the real supporting character was the food served in the diner. This is where I learned about fries with gravy.

Foodie Flicks

Dinner Rush was a small indie film that was actually shot in the director's father's real NYC Tribeca restaurant. We were so inspired by the movie that we dined at the actual restaurant 2 weeks later.

Tampopo

I like this quirky film, but the drunken shrimp scene is kind of disturbing.

Foodie Flicks

Eat Drink Man Woman

This was one of the first films I saw that used food as an integral, yet subtle part of the plot. Don't watch this movie on an empty stomach!

Foodie Flicks

Marie Antoinette

Even though the fashions and set designs were the real stars of this film the food was just as glamorous, especially the desserts. Everything was pastel and girlie - like a Barbie tea party!

Foodie Flicks

No Reservations was a poor remake of Mostly Martha, but I liked the restaurant scenes filmed in The Little Owl in NYC's West Village.

Scent of the Green Papaya

Food is not really central to this movie, but when it appears it's significant.

Babette's Feast

This is my most favorite food film. It really centers around food, cooking and eating.

Foodie Flicks

Ratatouille is one of my favorite movies with a food theme...so what if it's animated. The food and cooking all seem so realistic.
And the chef consultant for this film was none other than Thomas Keller.
