Le Train Bleu

...is a hidden gem of a restaurant located on the 6th floor of NYC's Bloomingdale's at 1000 Third Avenue.
It actually looks like a train car - both the interior and exterior.
They have a great 3 course prix-fixe menu for $29. I started with caviar and fried egg on smoked salmon with green asparagus and blini pancakes. There were just a few caviar eggs, but the essential flavor was there.
Then I had the sirloin burger with bleu cheese served on an organic brioche roll with pomme frites and beer battered onion rings. It was cooked to perfection!
And I had the blueberry sorbet for dessert. It was served with a sliced strawberry. And the waitress gave me two chocolate mint sticks along with the check.

Another of my favorite things

Trader Joe's Mango Sorbet. It's a light dessert that tastes great!

Chicago Greenmarket

Located at the corner of Lincoln Park is the Greenmarket. This farmer's market is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

There are lots of cheese offerings (from neighbor, Wisconsin). But the real draw are the food vendors. There was a lot of people consuming freshly made savory crepes at one vendor and hamburgers at another.

I tried the freshly made fruit sorbet - apple cider $3.

A Blogger Walks Into a Chocolate Shop...

and orders sorbet. I was walking past MarieBelle in NYC's SoHo at 484 Broome Street and it was 90 degrees. Sorbet seemed more refreshing than a piece of chocolate. Plus I really like mango so that's what I ordered.

The Small cup was $5.00 + tax

It was smooth and delicious with mango flavor.
MarieBelle also has a small cafe where you can order hot/iced beverages. In the winter their hot chocolate is rich and thick - like a melted chocolate bar in a cup.
