Grilling

Socrates Sculpture Park in Astoria - NYC's borough of Queens offered a free adult workshop: Cooking with Fire with The Brooklyn Kitchen and Meat Hook on 6/20. This offered tips on how to grill meets and vegetables.

Harold from The Meat Hook was on hand to discuss how to light the grill, placement of the foods, preparing foods for grilling and, of course, the grilling of foods.

He grilled Mexican chorizo sausages, marinated chicken legs and thighs, a 5 lb "Man steak", squash and portabello mushrooms. And then attendees were allowed to sample all the finished foods. Everything was delicious!

M&I

...is a huge Russian grocery store located at 249 Brighton Beach Avenue in Brooklyn.

I tried a pastry ($2) - it was delicate on the outside and cream filled. I'm not sure of it's name, but it looked good and the person in front of me bought 6 of them so I assumed it tasted just as good.

"S" tried a sausage - again we don't know what it was called or what the ingredients are, but it tasted good.

The Breslin

is located in the Ace Hotel in NYC's Midtown at 16 West 29th Street and offers an English Breakfast ($21) with 2 fried eggs, stewed tomato, mushrooms, sausage and bacon. I also had an order of whole wheat toast ($3) and orange juice ($5).
It was okay, but I don't know why there is so much hype about this restaurant. I guess I should try their dinner menu to find out more.
