Shake Shack

Just our luck..."E" and I only wanted a concrete and there was a short line for food at the original Shake Shack located in Madison Park. This would have been a great time to eat a burger, but since we only wanted frozen custard we went on the B-line and straight to the window. We each ordered a Shack Attack ($6.75/each) - chocolate custard, hot fudge, chocolate truffle cookie dough and valrhona chocolate chunks, topped with chocolate sprinkles. Yum!

Shake Shack Times Square

...is the newest outpost of the popular burger place located at 300 W. 44th Street in NYC's Times Square.
The line seems long, but it moves quicker than the Madison Avenue branch. And they have an extremely friendly and perky associate who walks around handing out laminated copies of the menu so you can plan what to order while you wait. And once you place your order you are given a buzzer so you can hunt for a seat while you wait for your order. Seating takes a little strategy so try to have the other person in your party hold onto your seats while you go back to the counter and pick up your order.
"C" and I each had a Single Shack Burger ($4.75) with lettuce, tomato and Shack Sauce - always juicy and delicious, love that potato roll; an Arnold Palmer ($2.25) - half lemonade half iced tea and a Concrete ($6.25).
"C" had a create your own Concrete with chocolate truffle cookie dough.
I had the Preztel! The Concrete with chocolate custard, peanut butter sauce, chocolate covered pretzels and marshmallow sauce. It was rich and delicious with very large chunks of pretzels which gave it a nice dimension of texture.

It's convenient and a little better logistics so I'll be back!

Shake Shack

There usually a very long line for the Shake Shack in NYC's Madison Park on 23rd Street near Madison Avenue. If you don't want food or shake go to the express B-Line.

I had a Concrete Jungle $6.25 (frozen custard mixed at a high speed with hot fudge, bananas and peanut butter) - delicious!

Custard in Corona

Frozen Custard is one of those phenoms that is, unfortunately, not found in many places that are not near a beach. But this unassuming store in Queens offers it at very reasonable prices.

I had the "regular" sundae which consisted of 3 scoops (of course I had to have one in each of the 3 flavors offered: vanilla, chocolate and dulce de leche) with hot fudge, chopped peanuts and whipped cream (hold the maraschino cherry) for only $3.95.

Kiddie sundaes (one scoop of ice cream) are only $1.50! Shakes are $4.25 for 16 oz. and $4.95 for 20 oz.
