Friedman's Lunch

...is located inside NYC's Chelsea Market at 75 Ninth Avenue. I had a craving for fried chicken, but one of their fryers was being cleaned so the waiter offered me their gluten free fried chicken - using rice flour. I tried it and was pleasantly surprised - it was very crispy and I couldn't tell it was gluten free. The mac n cheese was not.

Neither was the delicious chocolate bread pudding a la mode. This generous serving was served warm with vanilla ice cream.

I had a square strawberry jelly donut ($3 + tax).

Eataly - Manzo

Eataly is the mega Italian speciality market in NYC's Chesea at 200 Fifth Avenue. They have several restaurants including Manzo which features meat.

I started with the Striploin salad with foie gras and balsamic vinegar dressing ($19). The steak was medium rare, sliced thinly and sprinkled with shavings of foie gras pate. I wish they offered this in an entree portion size.

Then I had the Papparedelle with sausage ($21) which was very buttery. And I topped it off with the Chocolate Budino ($10) which was a cross between a cake and fudge, but was served chilled with pistachio sauce and vanilla gelato. I wish it was room temperature or even warmed.

I tried their burger ($13) which was served with tomato, lettuce, a pickle and fries. The burger was cooked to perfection and the fries were thick and delicious. I washed it all down with a Dr. Brown's Cream Soda ($2.50).

And we shared the Dame Blanche ($7) - vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream; and the warm Chocolate Tart with pistachio ice cream ($10) - a warm molten chocolate cake. Delish!

FoodParc

I went back to FoodParc located in NYC's Chelsea at 29th Street and Sixth Avenue with "J".
We sat in the theatre style seating section.
I had a 3B's cheeseburger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, crispy onions and secret sauce ($6.70), fries ($2.75) and black & white milkshake ($5.50). The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection. The fries were thin and crispy and the milkshake was thick and very good.
