...is located at 253 West 11th Street in NYC's West Village.

They offer a great prix fixe weekend brunch - $14.95 and includes orange juice and coffee or tea.

"J" had the Eggs Benedict with roasted potatoes.

I had the Grilled Salmon Sandwich on Seven Grain roll with tomato, arugula, portabello mushroom, honey ginger & shallot mayonaise with roasted potatoes and hollandaise sauce.

We topped it off with two of their delicious desserts:

Mixed berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream and a giant chocolate macaron with chocolate ganache and vanilla ice cream ($6.50/each).

"M", "S" and I went to Perry Street in NYC's West Village at 176 Perry Street for the Autumn prix fixe 3-course dinner for $38.

The amuse bouche was a leek consumer with truffle oil served in tiny espresso cups.

We started out with the lump crab meat appetizer on a light and crusty baguette.

We all had the fried chicken entree - two chicken breasts nicely fried served with pureed potatoes and wilted spinach.

And for dessert - the molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. A classic!

Fatty Crab

"C" and I went to the original Fatty Crab in NYC's West Village located at 643 Hudson Street.

"C" had a Dark & Stormy ($13) and I had a Rum & Coconut ($14 - served in a fresh coconut shell).

We shared the Fatty Duck ($22), Shrimp Sambal ($17) and Rendang (short ribs $25).

Everything was delicious! The duck was served with rice and the meat was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The shrimp had a little kick to it, it had lettuce for wrapping, peanuts, veggies and a dipping sauce. The short ribes were fantastic - very meaty and flavorful and serviced over rice.

We were given complimentary dessert - a mochi-like cake. It was a bit chewy and dense.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

After a great dinner in NYC's Meat Packing District, "M" and I were looking for a little dessert - preferably in the form of ice cream. We walked through the West Village and were delighted to see the Van Leeuewen Ice Cream Truck!

"M" had a small cone with Ginger and Chocolate and I had a small cone with Palm Sugar and Pumpkin Pie ($3.95/each). Yummy...it hit the spot!

Bee Desserts & Cafe

...is located at 94 Greenwich Avenue in NYC's West Village. I tried their original chocolate covered honey cake ($4) - it was served prewrapped like a HoHo. It was good. I also had an iced cappucino ($4.50).

Sweetiepie

...is a darling little restaurant/dessert cafe located at 19 Greenwich Avenue in NYC's West Village.

It's decorated in bright pink and white and perfect for a girl's (young and more mature) gathering for comfort food and sweets.

We started with cockails $12 each: "A" had the Nutty Russian (khalua based) and I had the Sweetiepie Mojito (rum, raspberries, mint, lime, brown sugar and soda).

Then we shared an appetizer of homemade potato chips and creamed avocado dip ($9). The chips were thin and crisp.

"A" had the scrambed eggs in a nest - 2 parmesan baskets ($14) - the eggs were good, but the baskets were chewy. I had the mac n cheese with american, sharp cheddar and parmesan ($15) - it had a nice crispy breadcrumb/cheese crust.

For dessert we shared a Cookie 'Screamer - 3 scoops of ice cream (your choice of any 3 flavors; we ordered chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip and vanilla), rainbow sprinkles, crumbled homemade chocolate chip cookies and hot fudge ($13) and the trio of micro cakes ($12) - 3 Barbie size frosted sponge cakes (chocolate, lemon and vanilla).

We watched as a birthday party of girls devoured a Sweetiepig - sponge cake, whipped cream, bananas, strawberries and 18 (yes, that's right - 18) scoops of ice cream for $75!
