Ironhead - Vancouver

I really liked the hand screen printed limited edition t-shirts sold by this store. Even though their are based in Toronto their only store is in Vancouver's Kitsilano area located at 1952 West 4th Avenue.

And the co-owner, Danny, was very nice to speak to. Out of courtesy to him I will not post pictures of their designs to prevent any counterfeiting.

Cupcakes - Vancouver

The cupcake craze has made it's way north to Vancouver. I stopped by this cute little store (one of two I saw in downtown Vancouver) on Thurlow Street and tried a Koo Koo Roo (coconut with vanilla cake) and Chocolate Caramel (2 for CA$5.95). Both were moist and very good.

White Spot Triple O's - Vancouver

I visited one of the many fast food franchises in Vancouver. I tried the original cheeseburger (CA$5.39), small fries (CA$1.99) and small soda (CA$1.69).

The burger was basic and good. The fries were also okay.

The place was decorated like a retro diner.

Cafe Medina - Vancouver

...is located in Vancouver between the Gaslight District and Chinatown at 556 Beatty Street.

I had the Samoune Fume - open faced ciabatta sandwich, fried egg, smoked salmon, caper cream cheese, sliced avocado, arugula pepperdew and artichoke salad (CA$12) and a pot of loose leaf earl grey tea (CA$2.75).

Then I topped it off with a waffle (CA$3.15) with raspberry caramel (CA$1). Yum!

Tojo's - Vancouver

...is located in Vancouver at 1133 West Broadway. For a splurge this is a good sushi restaurant where the Omakase starts at CA$150 (depending on how many courses you can eat).

I started with a glass of Gerwurtraminer (CA$9) and was only able to eat 11 courses:

- Tojo tuna sashimi

- Tempura squash blossoms stuffed with scallops

- Crab roll with panko

- Blue fin tuna sushi

- Smoked sable with asparagus and mango

- Crab meat salad with spicy sauce and pickled radish

- Giant Clam handroll

- Egg crepe with mango, salmon and crab

- Tojo cucumber wrap

- Tempura sweet potato roll with crab and mango

- Green Tea creme brulee with sesame crisp

Jitters - Vancouver

...is located in the Kitsilano area at 1956 West 4th Avenue and is a coffee lounge. I had a warm apple cider (CA$3).

Tim Horton's 2 - Vancouover

I had to try this Blueberry donut at Tim Horton's. It was light and not too sweet.
