Cupcake Crew

I stopped in my tracks when I spotted the Cupcake Crew truck parked on 40th Street near Sixth Avenue in NYC (near Bryant Park).
They had an extensive cupcake menu and two sizes: regular ($2.75 each) and min ($1.25 each), but a 4 pack of regular size was $10. So I bought 4 different flavors:
Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting
Somoa - chocolate cake with caramel cream cheese frosting, and toasted coconut with chocolate drizzle
Lumberjack Louie - vanilla cake with hickory smoked bacon and vanilla maple buttercream frosting
Cousin Vinnie - vanilla chocolate chip cake filled with cannoli cream, rolled in a fried cannoli shell
The cakes were all a little dry. This could have been because they were cold and when they came back to room temperature they lost some moisture. All of the frostings were good, and not too sweet. My favorite was the Cousin Vinnie although it was not filled with cream. The cream was perched on top of the cupcake.
