On 5/26 the NYC Flatiron 23rd Street Partnership had a special even "D to D from Delmonico's to Danny Meyer: Feasting in Flatiron Since the Gilded Age" at the Institute of Culinary Education for a $15 donation.
They offered tastings of the following:
Historic: lobster newberg l(obster on a brioche crouton), cotelettes d'agneau a la nelson (rack of lamb with fried bread crumbs) and charlotte russe (brioche topped with strawberres and whipped cream).
Modern: pulled pork sliders, chicken & thai basil dumplings (from Rickshaw dumplings) and uovo in raviolo (from SD26)
Beverages: Lime Rickey and Egg Cream
And guest speakers included:
Paul Bolles-Beaven: Sr Managing Partner Union Square Hospitality Group
William Grimes: author and former New York Times restaurant Critic
Miriam Berman: culinary historian and walking tour guide
At the end of the evening we each received a reusable shopping bag and drinking glass.
