I was drawn to this diminutive bakery located in NYC's East Village at 128 East 4th Street because of the cupcake sign outside. Even though cupcakes are ubiquitous today I thought this non-chain, low profile bakery might be a gold mine. The display looked appetizing, but alas, I was disappointed.
I tried 2 flavors: red velvet cupcake - the frosting was not creamy enough and the cake was mostly red food coloring and lacked flavor; sexy coco - chocolate with marshmallow frosting and a fresh strawberry and blackberry. The chocolate was very chocolatey and the marshmallow was okay enough, but there was nothing special about this cupcake that would compel me to return to try others.
