In NY's East Hampton the Maidstone Inn has renovated their restaurant, The Living Room.
The decor is an eclectic mix of colonial and eccentric aunt's sitting room. Our waiter must have been an actor because his diction and projection could be heard all around the room above the noise of several conversations. But he was friendly, knowledgable and quite enthusiastic.
For my meal I started with a glass of Riesling and ordered:
Assorted Seafood Appetizer special: gravlax, seared tuna, scallop $18
Rack of lamb with mashed potatoes and ratatouille $34
Goat cheese tart with lingonberries and raspberry sorbet $9
