Peels

...is located in NYC's East Village at 325 Bowery and serves comfort food.
I tried the shrimp and grits ($13) with fried egg and tasso ham - yum! And one of their famous biscuits ($3) - very light and fluffy. I washed it all down with freshly squeezed orange juice ($3.50).

Hyman's Seafood - Charleston

Hyman's monopolizes most of the entire block on Meeting Street, but their Seafood restaurant is located at 215.
I tried the she-crab chowder ($5.50) which was creamy and thick and the shrimp and grits appetizer ($8.95) was also creamy and the grits were fried cubes.
I topped it off with sweet tea ($2.25) and bread pudding ($2.95). It was good and served warm with whipped cream.
I also sat at a table where (Hyman's claims) Neil Diamond and Martin Sheen had both sat as well.

Virginia's on King - Charleston

...is located at 412 King Street. I had the traditional Shrimp N Grits ($11.99) for breakfast with an orange juice ($1.79). The grits were light and fluffy and the andouille sausage added a nice flavor.
