Birdbath

...is the latest outpost from The City Bakery located at 160 Prince Street in NYC's SoHo in the former Vesuvio Bakery space.

I tried a raspberry bran muffin, blueberry corn muffin and large iced tea (each $3.50). The muffins were good, but not as good as their famous pretzel croissant.

Mickey D's

...sometimes I have a craving for an Egg McMuffin and hash brown and go to McDonald's. This is their Breakfast Value Meal #1, but substituting orange juice for coffee ($5.29 including tax).

Airport Muffin

Blueberry muffin from Panini Express inside LaGuardia Airport's Marine Air Terminal ($3.00 including tax).

It was very sweet and more like a cupcake than a muffin.

City Bakery

City Bakery on West 18th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenue in NYC's Flatiron district) has been around and drawing weekend crowds for years. And there's good reason. All the food is freshly made and the baked goods are wonderful.

This weekend I tried the pretzel croissant ($3.75) and blueberry corn muffin ($3.50). The pretzel croissant was fantastic - buttery and very flaky with a hint of salt. The blueberry corn muffin was the size of a frisbee and had a refined corn flavor, but was a little skimpy on the blueberries.
