Murray's Cheese Shop

...is located at 254 Bleecker St. in NYC's Greenwich Village.

I tried the Breakfast Melt - bacon, fried egg and fontina cheese on an english muffin ($5.99). A classic on the go breakfast sandwich, but better. First the bacon and egg are fried (the egg is cooked to order). The they are assembled with the cheese on the english muffin. The entire sandwich is then grilled and pressed with real butter and is served steaming hot. The cheese oozes out and stretches with every bite.

Artisanal

...is located at 2 Park Avenue in NYC's Midtown.

"A" and I enjoyed their prix fixe brunch of 3 courses for $24.07.

We started with a basket each of cheese gougeres and beignets. They were served warm and were delicious...little clouds of bread and cheese and cinnamon donuts.

"A" had the fluffy scrambled eggs with bacon and potato galette - very tasty.
I had the grilled cheddar with bacon and apple served with homemade potato chips - also very good. The chips were especially light and crisp.

For dessert with had the cheese plate (one pc each from France, Italy and Spain) and the Chocolate Marquis which had a crunch center and salty nuts.

I also had a sparkling mango juice ($4.50).

Murray's Cheese

Murray's Cheese is located at 254 Bleecker Street in NYC's Greenwich Village. Although it's predominantly a cheese shop they offer premade sandwiches and made to order grilled cheeses!
I tried the "What a Croque" with wheat bread, gruyere cheese, a fried egg, ham and mustard ($6.99). And if you buy 5 grilled cheese sandwiches the 10th is free!
The sandwich was nice and buttery and Father Demo Square is only a block away so you can sit in the park to eat.

'wichcraft

is located in Bryant Park and offers the food served at the Southwest Porch. This haven in NYC's Midtown is sponsored by the airline. Comfy patio furniture, rockers and swings give city dwellers a reprieve especially in the warm weather.

I had the Grilled Gruyere Cheese sandwich with carmelized onions on rye bread ($5.95)and a ginger ale ($1.95). What a reasonably priced lunch for a chance to sit outdoors now that Spring is finally here!

More Bouchon Bakery

I went back to the Shops at Columbus Circle for a quick bite at Bouchon Bakery in NYC's Midtown.

I had the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup combo ($9.75) and a mini banana cream pie ($4.50).
